Welcome! And thank you for your interest in this our Gemstone Roundtables! A roundtable is an experience like no other...exciting, social, educational, and just plain fun! We know you will have a great time if you come to one of these exciting events! Let me explain a little about the roundtables for you.
WHO:
For each session of roundtables, we invite gemstone dealers to bring their incredible collection of colored gemstones. We have a specialist in opals, who buys rough opals in Austrailia directly from the miners and cuts incredible opals like you've never seen before. We also feature a gemologist who has hundreds of gemstones ranging from fancy carvings, druzies, standard (but fantastic) faceted gems, pearls, and much more. All of our dealers are fun to talk to and can answer all your questions about gemstones.
WHAT:
We seat between 10 to 12 clients at each roundtable. At each place setting you will find all the simple tools you need to view these stones -- a gem tray, a gem cleaning cloth, a pencil, and delicious treats. However, you will bring the two most important tools to the table: your eyes and your hands! Our guest dealer will pass between 120 and 150 gemstones around the table in gem papers. Your role will be to open the papers, look at the gems, and touch every one! Opening the papers is like opening gifts. You can't wait to see what is inside each one! As the gems are passed around, you will have the opportunity to select them for purchase.
WHEN:
We hold the roundtables at various times throughout the year. There are usually evening sessions on Thursday and Friday, an afternoon session on Friday, and a morning session on Saturday. If you would like to attend our next roundtable, please call the store at (309)353-7998 or email us to reserve your place because the sessions fill quickly. Also, you are encouraged to bring a friend - - the more the merrier!!
